Virtues In You


Virtues In You is a program designed for educators and staff in academic settings looking to add another tool for fostering the growth of oneself and the student’s innate virtues. This creates compassionate and efficient communication between teachers and staff and allows the teacher to observe one’s class mindfully.

When a teacher is in a state of mindfulness this helps the student in many ways:

  • Strengthen one’s self-esteem by acknowledging virtues in oneself and those innate in peers
  • Become less stressed – respond to stress more flexibly
  • Increase one’s attention span
  • Increase one’s desire to perform in class, complete homework, and may lead to increased test scores

In this program teachers and staff learn how to:

  • Grow mindfully as an individual through asana, meditation, and virtues based strategies
  • Discipline with restitution not retribution
  • Guide students with stress-buster techniques
  • Communicate with students and families to resolve issues respectively and peacefully
  • Teach students how to communicate mindfully with one’s peers

Tools used are the Five Strategies of The Virtues Project, yoga, journaling, role-playing exercises, and hands on activities to practice in the classroom. Virtues In You is customized based on your school’s need and age of students. The program is first customized for the school division level: Elementary; Middle School; or High School. The school then chooses the strategies they would like to learn.
